The Company
Started out of Yale University, Unect is a new type of financial services company. Unect uses the Internet as a tool to create customized products to meet the needs of the college market.

Founded in March 2000, the company is a privately held seed stage company, but expects rapid growth with it’s first round funding. Unect has letters of interest from numerous customers and expects to launch a pilot product in September 2000.

Unect’s team includes the founders of the Yale Entrepreneurial Society, which provides exceptional access to premier capital providers, business development opportunities, and top-notch intellectual capital. The company has already attracted a CTO with 20 years experience managing and developing innovative technology for financial applications.

Location
New Haven, CT

Experience
Consumer Banking background is highly desirable. Experience developing and managing strategic partners is highly preffered. Primary channels will initially be colleges and universities as well as the consumer banking industry. He/she will have been exposed to, or directly involved in, the management of partnership and consumer marketing, either directly to clients or with these channel partners.

Business development experience with an Internet e-commerce or service company, as well as a small, rapid-growth company is highly preferred. In this way, the finalist will have been exposed to sophisticated management and operational systems while still being able to operate effectively without extensive staff support, and will be able to manage objectives with limited financial and organizational resources


Responsibilities
The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships within the financial community. This will include e-commerce and content deals as well as developing high profile partnerships.

Compensation
Base with significant equity participation.
