Reporting Relationship
The Vice President, Marketing will report directly to the CEO

Education
Candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in either a marketing or business discipline.  A Master’s degree in Business Administration is preferred.

Experience
Qualified candidates will have at least ten years of overall business experience with a firm providing application software or Internet services and/or content.  Selected candidates will have progressed through positions of increasing responsibility to a senior marketing management position within a high-growth company. Experience should include establishing strong working relationships internally with multi-disciplinary teams, especially sales and development organizations, and externally with industry analysts and trade publications.  It is highly desirable that this person has managed an organization through significant change, such as an IPO.  He/she must have a proven expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive, detailed brand marketing plans and programs nationally and internationally, and have demonstrated success in expanding an existing brand and creating new brand strategies to ensure profitable growth.  Experience in strategic market planning for Internet and non-Internet products, as well as a successful record for the tactical implementation of those strategies is essential. A demonstrated mastery in recruiting, developing and managing staff, and ability to effectively manage multiple projects and set priorities is required.  He/she must have outstanding oral and written communication skills, and have the executive presence and credibility to be effective in presentations and as TRANSCENTIVE’s representative in the marketplace.  This will be a well-organized, high-energy individual, with a strong work ethic, and have the ability to creatively identify new ways of looking at business challenges.
 

Duties and Responsibilities
The Vice President, Marketing will provide a cohesive marketing vision and strategy for TRANSCENTIVE, and bring the existing communications, advertising and product marketing disciplines together to form a cohesive, unified organization.  Additional responsibilities will include:
 

  • Responsible for defining TRANSCENTIVE’s corporate, brand identity and image, complete with marketing literature and support materials and enhancing this image in the marketplace.

  • Responsible for growing the existing marketing staff to support new programs and initiatives.

  • Responsible for managing a marketing budget of approximately xxxxx dollars.

  • Responsible for creating and executing a marketing plan for various targeted industries that meets and exceeds our business plan growth rates and 4 key product success “metrics”.

  • Responsible for the commercialization of new and enhanced products and services (solutions) for various targeted industries.

  • Responsible for developing creative marketing programs with the marketing communications team.  These programs would include direct mail, telemarketing, seminars, events, and partner programs.

  • Responsible for creating a compelling vision of the future for targeted vertical markets that can be communicated to prospects, customers, employees and investors.

  • Assist in strategic sales cycles to communicate our vision of the future, and test sales messages, product positioning.

  • Responsible for facilitating the development of a product plan with development and senior management.

  • Responsible for the launch of new releases including the positioning, pricing, promotion, and sales training required to assure successful selling and support.

  • Responsible for developing product content required for marketing programs and collateral with the marketing communications team.

  • Responsible for directing competitive analysis team to provide timely, valuable insight to the sales force to assure our solutions and market message is clearly differentiated in conjunction with the vertical Industry Directors.

  • Responsible for briefing industry analysts on new products and services.

  • Responsible for being an industry thought leader, speaker at industry conferences, and author of industry relevant articles.

The selected candidate will be a highly intelligent, energetic and mature professional.  He/she will have a keen business sense, and the ability to function as a senior strategist with key member top management.  The desired candidate will also be self-directed and highly motivated with flexibility necessary to operate successfully in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, hands-on environment. Most importantly, the selected candidate must have the interpersonal skills to quickly establish himself/herself as an intelligent manager and one who can be trusted to complete and establish new procedures and marketing programs

Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include a base salary, bonus, and equity opportunities.
