Vice President, Product Development

The Company
Our client is a healthcare software and e-commerce company specializing in coding, compliance and reimbursement management.

Reporting Relationship
This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer or Vice President of Operations.

Education
An undergraduate degree is required. Advanced degree in technology or a related healthcare discipline is preferred.

Position Summary
This person will be responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership in developing the company’s health care industry products. This key Executive will assume primary responsibility for all products , both new and old. Duties include development, maintenance, documentation and support for all products throughout the lifecycle of the product, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery, timely and cost-effective maintenance and a high level of customer acceptance.

Duties & Responsibilities
This individual will serve as a member of the senior management team. The position's responsibilities are as follows, and may evolve over time:

  • Provide overall project leadership for the development and maintenance of our client’s products.
  • Manage technical staff to include scheduling, coordination, staffing and budgeting of all internal resources ensuring overall quality of the process.
  • Manage the intellectual content resources to ensure that the core content is complete and timely.
  • Provide regular status updates to executive and functional management to highlight resource obligations, current status and critical issues; Escalate as necessary to assure timely resolution along with recommendations for improvements.
  • Interface closely with company departments such as Sales/Marketing and Product Management.
  • Interact with technology partners to ensure swift adoption and rapid integration of our client’s products.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5-10 years managing development of off-the-shelf software.
  • Established track record in the design, development and management of commercial software systems and web-site projects.
  • Strong understanding and expertise market-driven product development and end-user issues.
  • Working knowledge of current technologies, to include C, COBOL, JAVA, Dynamic HTML, Client/Server, SQL, etc.
  • Strong Project Management skills.

Compensation
A six-figure salary with equity participation and performance-based bonuses.
