The Company
Global Knowledge Networks is of the largest independent information technology education companies in the world.  Global offers instructor led training around the world in various high tech disciplines/technologies.  They are Authorized training Vendors for Cisco, Entrust, Lotus, Microsoft, Nortel Networks and Redhat.  Global Knowledge also offers over 200 proprietary courses in IT education.  In addition to classroom based instructor led training, Global Knowledge Networks offers distance learning products and consulting services to it’s clients.

Director, Business Development

Education
An undergraduate degree is required, and an advanced degree is highly desirable.

Reporting Structure
This person will report to the Vice President, Outsourcing Division.

Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree, however an advanced degree is preferable.  They will have a minimum of 5-10 years of Sales experience in an environment where typical deals range from $2mm to $50mm.  Experience in professional services, outsourcing and/or high level strategic acquisitions is highly desirable. The ability to deal effectively in a multi-national multi-cultural business environment is a plus. Strong analysis, financial and negotiation skills are required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Other major city locations are available  in the U.S.
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for direct sales of training services and outsourcing opportunities within the fortune 500. This is a very senior role in the Global Knowledge organization, responsible for increasing GKN’s revenues through strategic acquisitions and outsourcing.  The candidate will be presenting technology training and education outsourcing solutions to fortune 500 level companies at the executive level. These engagements involve the acquisition of their target companies internal training and education groups, including but not limited to their physical assets, training centers, training methodology, management and staff.  This individual will be responsible for managing the engagement including due diligence and research, financial requirements, proposal/deal terms, and integration of the acquired group into Global Knowledge’s family of product/service offerings.  The position will not be responsible for managing a team.  Their sole responsibility will be to sell potential “partners” on the Global Knowledge concept.

Compensation
An attractive compensation package has been developed which includes a competitive base salary, an incentive bonus plan, and equity participation.
