Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Vice President of Finance and Administration. The Controller will oversee the entire accounting function and all its departments.

Education
A CPA and an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance is required. An advanced degree is highly desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities
This individual will serve as the Corporate Controller of the company. He/she will preside over all internal accounting and related administrative functions. The controller is responsible for the supervision of an accounting department of three direct reports.

The Controller will provide the management and vision necessary to assist the CFO, and VP Finance and Administration in establishing financial strategies, setting operational controls, and overseeing SEC reporting policies and procedures once the company is taken public.

The selected individual will coordinate overall consolidation and review of the Company’s financial statements. Conduct quarterly reviews and annual financial audits. Prepare and file all SEC required reports. Provide all Company information for State and Federal income tax returns, and supervise all other tax compliance filings. The Controller will also manage the outside auditors and provide timely, accurate and complete reports on financial results and the operating condition of the company. He/she will help the CFO and VP of Finance and Administration develop, communicate and implement effective financial and administrative strategies that support short, and mid to long-term growth objectives.

Background Summary
CPA with IPO and Software Industry experience. The successful candidate will be a seasoned, articulate and broad-based executive with a minimum of six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience and an outstanding record of professional accomplishment. Ideally, this individual will possess a balanced combination of public accounting, software industry, and public corporation experience. Previous experience working for a pre-ipo organization throughout the initial public offering process is highly desirable. He/She will have managed a staff of direct reports and will have overseen all aspects of the accounting function.

Personal Attributes Summary
The selected candidate will be a highly intelligent, and energetic professional. He/she will have a keen business sense, and the ability to function as a senior strategist and key member of the management team. The candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of company management, and the Company’s audit and legal firms. The controller will be familiar with risk assessment strategies, and be familiar with U.S. and New York tax laws.

This person will possess proven leadership and staff development skills, and will be an effective team builder and mentor. The selected candidate will be results-oriented, assertive and able to commit to specific performance goals, and effectively manage his/her subordinates through a constructive and involved management style.

Most importantly, the selected candidate must have the interpersonal skills to quickly establish himself/herself as an intelligent partner on the senior accounting management team, a well-balanced, flexible and confident professional who can be trusted to get things done right.

Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include a base salary, bonus, and equity opportunities.
