Our client, MicroCast, was founded in early 1998 to deliver TV video on PC Desktopsworldwide through the use of the internet. Through joint venture partners, MicroCast isable to deliver millions of TV shows daily on the internet, allowing clients to generatesignificant incremental revenue through its advertising supported network.

TITLE
Database Engineer

EDUCATION
Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science.

WORK EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have five to ten years in an Oracle Databasedevelopment/administration environment as an Oracle Developer or Database Administrator.Recent experience in the development, design and implementation of Oracle solutionssupporting E-Commerce, Accounting, Marketing, DSS and OLAP(Online Analytical Processing).Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with senior and staff leveltechnical professionals are a must. Additionally experience with Storage Area Networks,PL/SQL, SQL, UNIX Bourne Shell Scripting, Oracle Database Performance Tuning, SunSolaris/Linux, UNIX Performance Tuning, SQL Statement Tuning, the Oracle Call InterfaceAPI, and/or JDBC would be a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Database Engineers will be responsible for the day to day operation of Oracle DatabaseSystems as assigned by the Managers of Corporate and/or Broadcast Systems.

Assist in the design, development, and implementation of very large Oracle Database Systems;
Database Performance Monitoring;
Database Space Monitoring and Management;
Ensure scheduled backups have been performed;
Performance tuning at both the SQL Statement and Oracle Database levels;
Development of PL/SQL Stored Procedures, Triggers, Packages and Functions;
Perform software installations, upgrades, and patches;
Provide oversight and mentoring to junior staff members;
Participate in the application design/development effort as an Oracle resource;
Travel may be required.

COMPENSATION
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and consist of a base salary, plusbonus opportunity, stock options and an attractive benefits package.
