Our client is a software company specializing incoding, reimbursement and profiling of healthcare services. They are committed to helpingthe healthcare industry understand and improve its techniques for managing the finance anddelivery of medical care. For over 17 years, our client has partnered with providers,payers, managed care organizations and technology vendors to offer niche softwaresolutions that improve the art of healthcare management. They develop these products andservices from its expert knowledge of medical encoding, healthcare reimbursement,healthcare data management, health policy and research, and technology. Through thisniche-oriented expertise we develop and support products that embody knowledge insoftware. Their products and services:

-Enhance the accuracy of data
- Insure the appropriateness of payment
- Manage the contracting process between provider and payer
- Measure and predict healthcare consumption
- Profile utilization of healthcare services

Our client has conducted business in the healthcarereimbursement market since the advent of the Medicare Prospective Payment System (PPS) in1983.   HSS continues to be active in the ongoing development and enhancement ofcasemix and payments systems as they have been adapted for, and adopted by, other payers.  Our experience spans building and updating DRG grouping algorithms to developingreimbursement systems for provider network management.  They continue to stay on theleading edge of healthcare measurement and management by providing casemix tools for APGsand APCs for outpatient payment as well as risk-adjusted tools like DCGs for capitatedpricing.   Our coding and classification systems expertise provides us with aunique understanding of the data available in the industry, its limitations, and itsvalue.

TITLE
Chief Financial Officer

LOCATION
Connecticut

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the company CEO. The Chief Financial Officer will overseea total of eight personnel in accounting, finance, administration and human resources.

EDUCATION
An undergraduate degree in accounting or finance is required, and an advanceddegree is highly desirable.

BACKGROUND SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be a seasoned, articulate and broad-based executivewith a minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience and an outstandingrecord of professional accomplishment. Ideally, this individual will possess a balancedcombination of public accounting, corporate and smaller entrepreneurial companyexperience. Previous experience working for a multiple software product vendor in a seniorfinancial, and administrative management role is important. He/she will have MEA,fundraising, and IPO experience, the ability to expand relationships with analyst and thepublic accounting firm, and the internal sales and business development departments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This individual will serve as the Chief Financial Officer of the company. He/shewill preside over all internal accounting and control treasury, financial planning andanalysis, facilities, investor relations and administrative functions.

The Chief Financial Officer will provide the management and vision necessary to ensurethat the company has the proper financial strategies, operational controls, financialsystems administrative and reporting policies and procedures, effectively grow theorganization without adding undue bureaucracy, and to ensure the company's financialstrength and operating efficiency.

The selected individual will formulate financial and tax policies, plan and executefinancial programs, supply financial services and appraisals, upgrade the accountingsystem, assist in the integration of organizations that are bought or merged by thecompany, review client contracts and pricing, manage the outside auditors and providetimely, accurate and complete reports on financial results and the operating condition ofthe company. He/she will develop, communicate and implement effective financial andadministrative strategies that support short, mid/long-term growth objectives.

The Chief Financial Officer will keep pace with the demands of a rapidly growingbusiness, anticipate problems and synthesize appropriate solutions, and provide theadministrative and financial leadership necessary to effectively implement theseinitiatives.

He/she will have a keen business sense, and the ability to function as asenior strategist and key member of the top management team. The selected candidate will be results-oriented, able to commit tospecific performance goals, and effectively manage his/her subordinates to obtainforecasted objectives through a constructive and involved management style.

Most importantly, the selected candidate must have the interpersonal skills to quicklyestablish himself/herself as an intelligent partner on the senior management team, as onewho can be trusted to get things done.

COMPENSATION
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include a base salary,bonus, and equity opportunities.
