Our client, Barry Blau Marketing, a $330 million marketing and service firm,headquartered in Fairfield, Connecticut, with offices in Wilton, Connecticut; New York,Illinois, Maryland, Washington, and Germany, focuses on business-to-business directmarketing, best defined as promoting and immediate, measured response from a preciselytargeted audience via any communication medium.
The division we are currently working with, Blau Technology Group, is focused on threecore areas of expertise; market technology consulting, market technology systemsdevelopment and interactive production services. Their key software product, DynamicMarketing Environment (DME), is today’s most advanced technology for implementing"real time" event-driven marketing communications on the Internet. DME becomesthe foundation for all marketing events for integrating all channels and customer touchpoints and by developing intelligent agents to drive auto-generation messages based onpertinent customer activities via the Internet.
TITLE
Senior Oracle Database Administrator
LOCATION
Wilton, Connecticut
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the Vice President, Director of Development.
EDUCATION
A four year college degree, preferably with a concentration in Math or ComputerScience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The DBA will be the chief architect and support Oracle core applications for BlauTechnology Group internet systems. The entire information technology team is in Wilton,Connecticut. Applications are being developed in a UNIX/SUN, Windows NT environment, witha variety of front-end tools (Perl, CGI, Java, C, C++). The average system they aredeveloping will encompass Oracle databases approaching terabyte size.
WORK EXPERIENCE
The candidate will need to posses at least two years of Oracle databaseadministration working with large databases (at least 30 to 50 gig range) in a UNIXenvironment. Experience with databases linked to larger internet applications is a plus.Knowledge of the direct marketing industry or campaign management systems is also a plus.The company is a fast-paced, high technology organization that is expanding rapidly, andlooks for individuals comfortable in that environment.
COMPENSATION
Commensurate with experience including annual bonuses upon performance and anattractive benefit package.
